Petar Parushev is a policy officer in the product safety unit of the European Commission, which is the unit that operates Safety Gate - the EU/EEA rapid alert system for dangerous non-food products. He is responsible for the implementation and further development of EU product safety legislation and policy. Being a member of the Safety Gate team, Petar is guiding and assisting the national market surveillance authorities when publishing alerts on unsafe products in the Safety Gate. Due to his software development background, Petar is involved in the development of various IT applications that help authorities and businesses to establish a safer market for all citizens.

Francesca Poggiali is Chief Public Policy Officer Europe at GS1 and Chair of Digital for Green at AIOTI. Among her biggest achievements so far, there are the corporate social responsibility program for Ferrero, the convergence of environmental protection and chemical industry impacts in the framework of the EU Chemical reform, the fight against illicit trade through open non-proprietary standards for GS1.
Francesca studied Corporate Social Responsibility at the Harvard Business School, European Law at Leeds University and at LUISS University in Rome where she received the highest recognition cum laude.

Speakers:
Susana has been working in the European Commission for more than 20 years, managing events and several projects in the area of external and internal communication. In these last years she has been working in the Product Safety and Rapid Alert unit, managing alerts submitted in Safety Gate and the corresponding website. Susana has also been managing several communication campaigns and organising several events, including the EU Product Safety Award. Apart from the tasks, Susana is also responsible for assembling the statistics and the annual report about the functioning of Safety Gate and the organisation of the related annual event with EU media.
